Employment Opportunities

The Dermott School District has the following employment opportunities for the 2019 - 2020 School Year.  If you are interested in any of these positions, please complete an application and return it to the Superintendent's Office.



  • High School Chemistry/Physical Science Teacher
  • K - 12 Library Media Specialist
  • High School Biology/Life Science Teacher
  • High School Special Education Teacher (must hold valid license - no waiver for this position)
  • Elementary Special Education Teacher (must hold valid license - no waiver for this position)
  • Speech Language Pathologist (must hold valid license - no waiver for this position)
  • High School Math Teacher


Applicants for certified positions except Special Education Teacher and Speech Language Pathologist must hold Valid Arkansas License or meet Arkansas Qualified Teacher (AQT) Requirements
AQT Requirements for ACT 1240 Waiver Teachers;
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have demonstrated Content Knowledge in the subject area being taught by one of the following:
               1.     Passed a content area assessment approved by the State Board of Education for the subject/content/grade level the educator will teach
               2.     Passed a content exam which was accepted as demonstration of content knowledge for a teaching license in another state that is acceptable through reciprocity for an Arkansas teaching license
                 3.     Has a bachelor's degree or advanced degree in the content area
                 4.     Has a minimum of 18 college credit hours in the content area
                 5.     Has National Board Certification in the content area
                 6.     Has documented successful, relevant work experience in the content area to be taught, established by at least one year of employment in a specific field or occupation that required the educator to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the content area.  This is to be supported by two professional letters of recommendation from the educator's employers or supervisors







  • 21st CCLC Site Coordinator (Anticipated Opening dependent upon awarding of the Grant)

21st CCLC Site Coordinator Duties 

  • Must be present during program hours to oversee program operations
  •  Assists staff in developing the program structure and curriculum
  • Ensures program includes activities that contribute to the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical well-being and growth of each participant
  •  Ensure the program implementation reflects the use of best practices in program structure, learning environment, learning strategies, programming, and building effective relationships with staff, families, children/youth, and the community
  • Regularly communicate with staff, administration, partners, and families/guardians regarding program goals and strategies to achieve the goals
  •  Facilitate regularly scheduled staff meetings to review progress toward program goals, debrief activities, communicate expectations, and review evaluation strategies
  • Ensures a flexible daily schedule is established which offers children/youth security, independence, and choices among a variety of youth-centered and age-appropriate activities
  •  Ensures activities are well planned, adequate materials are available, and staff member are prepared to lead activities
  • Ensures activities and curriculum reflect the wants and needs of the children/youth, their families, and their schools
  •  Ensures children and youth are supervised at all times by qualified adults
  • Coordinates on-going family/guardian workshops, services, and special events
  •  Develops positive relationships with children/youth, families/guardians, regular day school staff and administration, partners, and the community
  • Create professional development plans for all staff members
  •  Ensures activities are in alignment with regular day school
  •  Conduct regular performance planning and feedback sessions with staff
  • Collaborate with staff in developing strategies for ensuring newly acquired knowledge and skills are integrated into program delivery
  •  Leads the staff in creating program improvement plans
  •   Works with external evaluators and program staff to measure programmatic, operational, and youth outcomes; ensures all reporting on outcomes is accurate
  •  Must attend the National 21st CCLC Conference or one out of state training event
  •  Must attend the Arkansas 21st CCLC Annual Conference.
  •   Prepare monthly reports as required by the project director
  •  Handle all student discipline problems
  •  Handle staff issues in consultation with the project director
  •  Sub when short staffed
  •   Recruit students for the program
  •  Stay until the last student has left the program
  •  Other duties as assigned by the Project Director
